England Weather
Yes that exactly how I can describe my mood lately. Today its bright and sunny and the very next day its gloomy. So unpredictable and fluctuating like the typical moody crab. Well I guess that is just being me, although as mentioned in my last post, these days I tend to lean towards more of the negative side.
Today am a happy gal ( yest I was all down). A good 33% raise, a colleague treating me to tasty 3 course lunch, no deadlines (at least for today) and in just an hour I will be heading home (relatively small day at work), I guess my sunny days are back again ... when in actual its cloudy outside :)

Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gum
Well I got my yearly appraisal, and must say that the hike I got is pretty decent. Okay okay its very good.... much much more than my expectation...but common which employee is ever satisfied with the raise. I should be jumping with joy, but here I am instead sulking, remembering the past. Lately I have got into this habit of always looking at the one bad thing which has happened to me lately rather than looking at the 10 other good things which has happened after that one bad incident.
Or may be it is the fact that am not able to share my happiness with the one person with whom I want to. That is why it is said that Life is not fair always.

Becoming wise
I have been working in the BPO industry for the last 3 yrs or so. The general trend I have seen with BPO crowd is they like to party, go to pubs/ discs, or to places like Manori/Gorai/ Madh etc and again party hard. With BPOs providing the option of financial freedom (that too a good amount) for kids just out of college its obvious that these young bubbly BPO crowd like to do things they could not do with their measly pocket money or allowances given to them by their family.
Ask any BPO guy about their plans for the weekend and its pretty much the same - party, meet gf/bf, go out with gf/bf, movies, malls, go to drink etc. But today things are changing; there is a small group of population who is breaking the monotonous Ways to spend their weekend. One of the hot favorites of the crowd esp BPO couples are Dance classes. Couples that its more quality time spent while they try to get a step of two with their duck feet plus its always cool to flaunt those cool moves the next time they hit the dance floor at the disc or at a party. Even singles feel that a little cha cha cha really helps them unwind after a hectic monotonous week at call center between cold calls, meeting targets and. providing customer service to irate customers.
I think finally the BPO crowd is slowly but steadily becoming wise. They are no more the kids who are looking out to just to make a quick buck till the time they actually want to decide what stream they want to do their Masters Degree. Even the BPO industry was considered to be like bubbles, which was expected to burst after sometime. But companies like 3G, J P Morgan, Accenture and IBM has proved that this is a serious business and they need mature and serious people who take the BPO job as seriously as any other full time career. As the industry matures the people in the industry too a maturing.
